Jodie Alderson-Smith will captain the team with Rachel Cartwright and Stephanie Towns named as assistants.

Head Coach, Mike Clancy, said: “We have plenty of experience on this roster and I think all three players will bring great leadership to the team.

“The three of them have been GB players for some time now and know what’s expected of them.

“Their experience and leadership qualities are important and they have the respect of the dressing room.”

Alderson-Smith said: “It’s a huge honour. With Saffron (Allen) stepping down, one of us had to step into that role.

“Mike asked me at the last camp if I would do that and obviously I am really happy to take up the role.”
