Ellin Rees will wear the C, supported by Vivian McGee and Ellie Patrick with the A – all three were in the same roles during the Four Nations tournament in Poland last November.

Rees said: “To be captain of the team is a huge honour, and in a home tournament is even better.

“It will be amazing to have so many friends and family in the stands watching our games.”

Angela Taylor has been in post less than a year but is already coming up for her third tournament, and Rees says her impact is showing on the squad.

“We were already a fairly positive group but Angela has been brilliant with us and gives us so much.

“A couple of the squad from last time have moved up but there is a large number of us been together all the time and I hope that will pay off in our tournament this week.”

GB begin their World Championship against Netherlands (face off 8pm) with tickets available on the door at Ice Bowl reception. A webcast is also available for those unable to make it, www.247.tv/247 for more details.
