The six-team tournament – taking place at the Dumfries Ice Bowl in Scotland – will run from 11th to 17th December 2023.

GB will be joined by Lithuania, Netherlands and Spain, along with promoted China and relegated Korea.

Henry Staelens, CEO of Ice Hockey UK, said: “We’re really looking forward to hosting the tournament in Dumfries. It’s a great facility and they’re a really progressive venue to work with.

“I’m sure the visiting nations will enjoy their time here. We’ll be launching tickets in due course and hope to see as many fans as possible supporting the teams, especially GB.”

Dumfries and Galloway Council Chair of Communities Committee, Cllr Ian Blake, said: “We’re delighted to be hosting World Championship ice hockey once again in our council’s Ice Bowl facility.

“The council enjoys a warm and productive partnership with Ice Hockey UK, which has been strengthened due to the successful delivery of past events.

“We are looking forward to the event and welcoming all to our region, which provides a fantastic economic boost to the area while teams, volunteers and officials stay in and around the Ice Bowl for the duration of the tournament.

“It also allows local schoolchildren, ice hockey players and fans the chance to watch world=class action on their doorstep. We’re very much looking forward to the event.”

Details on the game schedule and tickets will be announced shortly.
