The tournament is the highest level of women’s ice hockey in the IIHF structure and is one of the most prestigious competitions in the sport’s yearly calendar.

In 2019, Lack officiated at the IIHF Under-18 Women’s World Championship in Japan and is highly regarded as one of the top officials across the world.

The tournament ran from 5th to 16th April with Canada, Czechia, Japan, Switzerland and USA in Group A, along with Finland, France, Germany, Hungary and Sweden in Group B.

USA beat Canada 6-3 in a thrilling final.

Lack said: “I was absolutely honoured, excited and feel so privileged to officiate at Women’s World Championship.

“As I think all officials, players, coaches and more can say, the dream is to skate at the top division, so to be given the opportunity is wonderful.”

Ice Hockey UK Referee-in-Chief, Simon Kirkham, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for Amy and so well deserved.

“To officiate at the top level shows she is at the top of her game and it’s a proud moment for her.

“Once again, it puts the officials from the UK on the ice hockey map and just shows how well regarded they are by the IIHF.”
